The Venus Fly trap is from the swamps of North Carolina and they are also known as carnivorous plants.

The most interesting thing about this plant is how it eats.

Venus fly traps lure insects by the reddish lining in the leaves and by secretly a fragrant nectar.

When bugs land in the jaws of the flytrap it doesn’t clamp right away. Sensory hairs called trichomes on the inside of the petals essentially count the movements from the insect.

There must be at least two movements in 20 seconds of the petals wont close.

If an insect touches one hair inside the leaf then it will shut. Ten days later the trap with reopen and wait for its next victim.
