Native to South America.

Takes around 3 years to fruit from seed.

The fruit is soft and very fluffy like a cotton ball texture.

The fruit actually does kind of taste like vanilla ice cream.

The ice cream bean is a large bean pod and you stick a knife through it and pry it open with your hand and you can take the large pieces of fruit out and enjoy them.

Sabara Jaboticaba tree

Scientific name: Plinia Cauliflora

Native to South America.

Grows up to 10-45 feet tall.

Takes around 3, 5 to 10 years to fruit from seed.

They produce small black fruits all over their trunk and branches.

The fruit taste like a sweet grape flavor.

Rollinia Trees

Scientific name: Annona Mucosa, or Rollinia Deliciosa

Comes from the Amazon region of Peru and Brazil in South America.

Rollinia is a rapid growing tree. They grow long branches and the branches sort of arch over and the tree gets pretty wide.

Takes around 3-4 years to fruit.

Rollinia is a yellow fruit with spikes on it and if the fruit gets knocked around those spikes start to turn black.

Native to the country of Suriname and Brazil in South America.

The Surinam cherry is basically a large shrub and gets up to 26 feet in height.

The fruit tastes sweet/tart when they are red but if you let them get really ripe they taste very sweet and delicious.

Dragon fruit is a fruit that grows on a very large cactus.

The dragon fruit in the was started from seed and about 2 months ago.

There are 3 types of dragon fruit: Pink skin with white flesh, pink skin with red flesh and yellow skin with white flesh.

The yellow dragon fruit is best because is is very sweet.

Dragon fruit grows in Hawaii, Central America and south east Asia. It takes about 3 years for a dragon fruit plant to produce fruit.

Jackfruit

Jackfruit is the largest tropical fruit in the world!

It grows in Southeast Asia.

Every part of the Jackfruit can be used. The fruits and seeds are eaten, the leaves can be fed to animals, the trunk and branches can be used for wood products and the roots for medicine.

Jackfruit is my most favorite fruit I have ever had! It is so good and it tastes like a mixture of mango and pineapple.

Starfruit is a fruit that is from Indonesia and the Philippines and the fruit is shaped like a Star.

Starfruit has a smooth and slightly waxy skin.

It tastes like a fruity apple/pear and grape mixed and it’s really juicy and a little bit crunchy.

They grow in South America, Latin America, Africa and India

The height depends on the variety, Dwarf Cavendish gets up to 8-10 feet tall.

They take around 1-2 years to fruit.

Bananas are not trees they are herbs and they grow like grass and they always send up shoots or pups next to the stem.

You have to chop down the mother banana plant after you harvest fruits, this feeds the suckers next to the stem and allows them to grow healthier.
